No proposal to bifurcate Tamil Nadu into consideration: Centre | India Information


CHENNAI: The Union authorities on Tuesday acknowledged that no proposal to bifurcate any state within the nation, together with Tamil Nadu, was below its consideration.
Union minister of state for house affairs Nityanand Rai gave a reply to this impact to MPs T R Paarivendhar and S Ramalingam in Lok Sabha. “Presently no such proposal is into consideration,” the minister stated.
The members had sought to know if the federal government had any such proposal and the rationale, objective and motive for such bifurcation and if the federal government had obtained any demand from any particular person or organisation for bifurcating any state within the nation, together with Tamil Nadu.
Rai stated the calls for and representations have been obtained infrequently from varied people and organisations for creation of recent states. “Creation of a brand new state has large ramifications and direct bearing on the federal polity of our nation,” the minister stated.
The Union authorities would transfer on the matter of formation of recent states after taking all related components into consideration.
