NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday strongly condemned the assault on Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur and mentioned that their sacrifice won’t ever be forgotten.
“Strongly condemn the assault on the Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur. I pay homage to these troopers and members of the family who’ve been martyred at this time. Their sacrifice won’t ever be forgotten,” PM Modi wrote on Twitter.
“My ideas are with the bereaved households on this hour of unhappiness,” he mentioned.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh additionally expressed anguish over convoy assault and affirmed that the perpetrators shall be delivered to justice quickly.
“The cowardly assault on an Assam Rifles convoy in Churachandpur, Manipur is extraordinarily painful and condemnable. The nation has misplaced 5 courageous troopers together with CO 46 AR and two members of the family. My condolences to the bereaved households,” Rajnath mentioned.
Commanding officer Colonel Viplav Tripathi of 46 Assam Rifles, his spouse and son and 4 paramilitary drive personnel had been on Saturday killed after terrorists ambushed their convoy in Manipur’s Churachandpur district.
Manipur terrorist group – Folks’s Liberation Military is suspected to be behind the assault on the 46 Assam Rifles convoy.
Condemning the ‘cowardly assault’, Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh mentioned, “The State forces & Para navy are already on their job to trace down the militants. The perpetrators shall be delivered to justice.”
